1. Buhari Most Popular Politician In Nigeria – Osinbajo

The Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, has said the nation will succeed in tackling all the challenges it faces, adding that Buhari’s popularity and credibility will be the key to solving the country’s challenges.

Osinbajo stated this at a meeting with senior officials of the Nigerian embassy in the United Kingdom.

He said, “The President is possibly the most popular Nigerian politician that we ever had in generations.

He emphasized Nigeria’s unity, saying that many parts of the world are trying to unite in terms of economic growth but not secession, “Everywhere in the world today, people are coming together to form stronger units, they are not breaking up, this is not the time to break up.”

Osinbajo said all the ethnic groups in the country depend on each other, “if you look at all of us who live here, we come from different regions.”

He said Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa are not the only ones who can say they are self-sufficient, “We are better than one country, that’s why we are strong and that’s why we can face the world.”

Osinbajo charged Nigerians to spread the message of patriotism, saying that anyone who has watched Nigeria goes by knows that it is more enjoyable to travel in its current system.

2. NUPENG Suspends Monday’s Nationwide Strike

The National Union of Petroleum and Gas Workers (NUPENG) has announced the suspension of the planned strike by its affiliate members, Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD).

Naija News reports that the PTD had planned to embark on a nationwide strike action on Monday over the state of bad highways across the country and other issues.

The South-West Zonal Chairman of NUPENG, Tayo Aboyeji, disclosed that the strike was suspended because of the Federal Government’s intervention.

He said the PTD suspended the industrial action so that they can meet with the federal government and iron out issues at stake.

3. Only God Can Take My Life – Tinubu Breaks Silence After Return

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that only God gives and takes life.

Naija News reports that the former Lagos State governor stated this while speaking at an event organized to welcome him back to the country.

Recall that the Jagaban has been away from the country for the past three months during which time he underwent a knee surgery and physiotherapy.

Speaking on Sunday, Tinubu expressed thanks to God for bringing him back to Nigeria safely.

4. PDP: Bode George Reveals Which Region Should Produce Nigeria’s President

The former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bode George, has called on the main opposition party to zone its presidential ticket to the South.
George stated this while pointing to the fact that PDP had zone the party chairmanship position to the North ahead of its national congress.

According to the PDP chieftain, zoning has been the enduring pivot of Nigeria’s democratic experience since 1999.

George in a statement titled, “Zoning is about equity and fairness,” charged the party to take the right step so as to return to power in 2023.

5. Biafra: All Southeast Governors Except Obiano ‘Are Our Members And Sponsors’ – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has berated individuals who still accuse the group or its Eastern Security Network, ESN, of being behind killings in the southeast.

The group in a statement on Sunday through its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, claimed that Governor Willie Obiano recent statements has absolved the group from killings in Anambra and Imo States.

Recall that Obiano, while giving reasons for not attending a meeting of southeast governors, traditional rulers and stakeholders, had said he can’t discuss security with individuals sponsoring killings in his state.

IPOB, in its statement, said Obiano’s revelation shows that the killings going on in the region are politically motivated.

According to IPOB, people have found it difficult to believe that they are not behind those attacks in the southeast.

The pro-Biafra wondered if those people who fail to believe they are not behind such dastardly acts will believe if they said all southeast governors except Obiano are their members and sponsors.

6. 2023: Tunde Bakare Reveals Nigeria’s Major Problem

Popular Tele-evangelist, Tunde Bakare has described the 1999 constitution as the problem confronting the country.

Speaking in his state of the station broadcast on Sunday, Bakare stated the constitution needs urgent amendment which will solve parts of the problem facing the nation.

The Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church (CGCG), Lagos, claimed that the 1999 constitution was “a glorified death certificate.”

Bakare asked President Muhammadu Buhari to “tear down this inhibitive constitution” and lead the campaign to change the constitution which he said was imposed on Nigerians by the military.

He reiterated that restructuring of Nigeria and change of the constitution is more pressing than the discussion about a power shift.

The popular clergyman also announced the formation of Nigeria for Nigerians (N4N) Movement to take back Nigeria.

7. Uche Onyeaguocha: Uzodinma Plotting To Destroy Perceived Opponents – IPOB

The Indigeneous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Sunday denied reports that it has appointed former Secretary to the Imo State Government, Uche Onyeaguocha, as its legal Adviser or secretary.

In a statement to newsmen by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, IPOB accused Governor Hope Uzodinma, of plotting to destroy political opponents.

Wondering why Onyeagocha a non-member will be appointed legal adviser, the pro-Biafra group accused Uzodinma of sponsoring such lies from the pit of hell.

According to the groups, the governor and his foot soldiers are trying to implicate the former SSG as he is a strong critic of the administration.

While cautioning the Imo governor against using its platform to destroy opponents, IPOB also warned media organizations to be wary of unverified statements credited to the group.

8. PDP Cannot Win 2023 Presidency If… – Dokpesi

Chairman emeritus of Daar Communications, Raymond Dokpesi, says the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, cannot win the 2023 Presidency if its presidential candidate comes from the South East.

In a recent interview with Daily Trust, Dokpesi stated that only a Northern candidate can win the 2023 presidential election for the main opposition party.

He added that there is no candidate from the Southeast and the South in general that will be able to win the top seat in the country for the PDP.

The PDP chieftain, however, canvassed for an Igbo presidency in the interest of equity, justice, and fairness, provided the slot is given to the South.

9. APC, PDP Has Delivered Only Hopelessness To Nigerians – Moghalu

A former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kingsley Moghalu, has described the African Democratic Congress as one of the driving forces ahead of the 2023 general elections in the country.

The former Presidential candidate on Sunday further stated that the party would work towards rescuing and rebuilding Nigeria.

Moghalu is a statement claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress has delivered “only misery, rigged elections, 4,000 megawatts of electricity for 200 million people, joblessness and hopelessness for our youth, and insecurity.”

10. APC Wins Plateau Local Govt Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the seats in the local government elections held in Plateau State on Saturday.

Naija News reports that the Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, Fabian Ntung, made this known on Sunday while announcing the results in Jos, the state capital.

Ntung disclosed that APC won all the chairmanship seats in the 17 council areas and won all the councillorship seats across the 325 wards in the state.

He said, “The APC won all the 17 local government chairmanship seats, as well as the 325 councillorship seats in the state.”

It was learned that seven parties participated in the election, but the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party was excluded from participating in the elections.
