President Muhammadu Buhari has been lectured by a member of the 8th Senate, Senator Sam Anyanwu, on how to handle the current challenges facing the country.

While expressing his concerns over the current state of the nation, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, member opined that the only way to solve Nigeria’s present situation is to respect the rights of every component unit.

Naija News reports that Anyanwu admonished President Buhari to take control of the nation’s political and socio-economic flaws rather than respond to them.

The former lawmaker who represented Imo East Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly said it is of necessity for the president to urgently address hunger in the country.

Anyanwu lamented the hike in the cost of food, goods and starvation in the society. He said: “President Muhammadu Buhari’s led APC administration should be aware that the only way to solve the present situation in Nigeria is to respect the rights of every component units, and charged the Federal and State governments to immediately open channels of dialogue to weigh options and adapt where necessary.”

While expressing confidence that Nigeria will overcome the current security threat across the states, Anyanwu advised the All Progressives Congress-led government to look for better ways of tackling the issues at hand.

He warned the government against the use of force on Nigerians by security agencies, noting that in a decent democratic setting, the citizens are placed as a top priority than anything else.

Naija News understands that Anyanwu gave the advisory in a release signed by the Special Adviser Media, Ikenna Onuoha.

He further warned politicians against making unguarded statements capable of jeopardizing the peace and security of the country.

Anyanwu stressed that the politicians must not hide under the current security challenges in Nigeria to cause more panic and mayhem by heating up the polity.
