Nigerian mobile telecommunications company, MTN, experienced downtime across the nation on Saturday.

Naija News understands that MTN network service was disrupted this afternoon in Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and some other parts of the country.

MTN customers were unable to use the mobile network operator’s call, data, and SMS services due to the downtime.

The telecommunication company took to its Facebook page to apologize to customers experiencing the challenge, saying it was aware of the development. MTN also stated that it was working towards restoring normalcy in the affected areas.

As at 6 pm on Saturday, the outage had been partially resolved however some subscribers were still encountering difficulty using MTN services.

MTN is the largest telecommunication provider in Nigeria with 77.35 million subscribers, according to the latest industry statistics from the Nigerian Communications Commission.
