Security operatives have invaded the home of the suspended traditional ruler HRH Igwe Christopher Okwor of the Ihekwuenu Aku community.

The operatives, who are believed to be from the Fraud Force Unit, Abuja were dressed as civilians and armed to the teeth.  They gained access to the traditional ruler home by jumping over the fence.

A female resident of Okwor compound identified as Jennifer said that they heard a strange noise in the compound and in a blink of an eye the armed men began trying to break the entrance door but when they could not succeed they pulled down the windows burglary and successfully entered the home of the ruler.

On gaining access, Jennifer said the ruler, his wife, and two guests were subjected to severe beating after which they were dragged to a vehicle waiting outside.

However, when the Police Public Relation Officer, Enugu state command, and the Nsukka Area command were contacted they both said they were not aware of the incident.

A local vigilante who rushed to the ruler’s home when the operation was ongoing said he was asked to leave by policemen in two private vehicles parked in front of the residence.

According to NTA, the ruler and his wife were taken to the anti-kidnapping unit Enugu.
