A call has gone out to President Muhammadu Buhari to sack three of his cabinet members to improve the performance of his administration.

The call was made by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Garus Gololo who submitted that the President needs to take the drastic step to reposition his administration.

He said the identified persons have not lived up to expectations and should be shown the exit door.

Gololo in his submission listed the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami as the first person Buhari should get rid of.

The APC stalwart then added the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno.

He urged the President not to listen to the plea of anyone but sack the three top officials for not being productive.

“Let the President go ahead and sack them – both Malami and other Ministers who are not productive. The party APC has built on good ideology and if anyone has nothing to offer the President, in terms of capacity, to enable him deliver on his promises and live up to the expectations of the ideology, then such person should be shown the way out.

“I will advise the President not to listen to anyone or even the Malami himself. Let him stay focused and reposition his government. Let no one distract him.

“I would even prefer if the President sacks the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the National Security Adviser, in addition to Malami and other members of his government who has brought his performances down, by their own actions or inactions”, Gololo said.

He was reacting to the report by Sahara Reporters that President Buhari had concluded plans to relieve Malami and 15 other Ministers in his cabinet of their duties before December 2021, but that some of them have started lobbying to retain their positions.

Naija News recalls President Muhammadu Buhari had on Wednesday, 1st September 2021, relieved two of his Ministers of their duties with immediate effect and also announced their replacement.

The affected cabinet members are the Minister of Agriculture, Mohammed Sabo Nanono, and the Minister of Power, Mr. Saleh Mamman.

After the sack, President Buhari had hinted that the continuous rejig of the cabinet should be expected until the desired objective is met.
