Controversial Nigerian OAP, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has condemned the assault on Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, by the Nigerian army.

Naija News had reported earlier that the veteran actor was harassed by soldiers for wearing an outfit with colours of the Biafran flag.

The incident happened at the Upper Iweka area of Anambra state on Thursday. Agu was stopped while driving his bus and forced out of the vehicle for ‘interrogation’.

Reacting to the manhandling of the actor following his release on Friday, Daddy Freeze said it would have been nice if the soldiers had only stopped Agu, taken some pictures with him to celebrate his status, and then put a disclaimer to the Biafra agitation.

He said: “If the Soldiers had taken a picture with Chiwetalu Agu all smiling and under the photo, they put a disclaimer which read: “Although we do not in any way support Biafra and are working towards a United Nigeria, we couldn’t help but recognize this veteran, we are fans of his and appreciate his awesome talent.

“This in my humble opinion would have doused a lot of tension, as arresting him didn’t ‘prevent’ agitation; instead, it enabled it,” Daddy Freeze noted.
