The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has allegedly suspended a member representing Oredo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama.

Naija News reports that the PDP Chairman in Oredo Local Government Area (LGA), Oduwa Igbinosun, has also been been suspended from the party.

It was gathered that the duo were suspended for embezzlement and anti-party activities.

At a enlarge meeting of the PDP at the Oredo PDP Secretariat, Omoregbe John from Oredo Ward 8 moved a motion for the suspension of Hon. Ogbiede-Ihama and Igbinosun.

According to some party leaders, the suspended duo were allegedly frustrating the growth of the PDP in Oredo LGA.

Naija News had earlier reported that theĀ  Chairman of the PDP in Ward 4, Oredo Local Government Area, Friday Ihama had also been suspended for alleged anti-party activities.

Ihama was immediately replaced by Prince Courage Uyi Ogiefa.

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki is a member of Ward 4, Oredo LGA.

The State Assistant Financial Secretary, Aroko Thomas, said the suspended chairman of the ward allegedly engaged in anti-party activities during and after the September 19 governorship election in 2020.

He said the suspended chairman has been involved in a financial deal with the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last governorship election to the tune of N2.5 million.
