The Senate may issue a warrant of arrest against the Director-Genera of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Buba Marwa and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno.

Naija News reports that the warrant of arrest may be issued due to the duo failure to honour its invitation by the Upper Legislative chambers.

It was gathered that the senate committee on Public Accounts are currently looking into a query raised in a report by the Auditor-Generam against the NDLEA and Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in a 2016 report, which is being considered by the Senate Public Accounts Committee.

According to the report, financial infraction was committed by the NDLEA in 2015 before the appointment of Marwa.

While ONSA was queried over alleged diversion of N3.5 billion meant for National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) to acquire vehicles for military officers.

Senate committee chairman, Senator Mathew Urhohgide (PDP-Edo south) said officials of both agencies refused to honour invitation by the committee.

He said: “We don’t have reference for personality, nobody is bigger than us. We advise them, in their best interest, to appear. We are warning them for the last time, we are going to use every constitutional means to force them to appear before us.”

On Monguno , he said “NSA should come and clarify. We do not have other issue directly with him. We implore him to send any person of competence or appear in person.”
