Residents of Ita Balogun, Ilesha, Osun State, were on Saturday thrown into commotion after two residents were killed by a woman suspected to be mentally ill.

Reports obtained by Naija News revealed that the suspect, Esther Adu, attacked two of her neighbours whose names were given as Ojuolape Olojo (90) and 70-year-old Samson Sunday.

Police in the area were informed of the incident but Adu was already seized and set ablaze by the angry mob before their arrival. A source who pleaded to be anonymous had told newsmen that Adu also severely injured another neighbour identified as Disu Olaleye (70).

The source explained further that Adu had used a machete on Olaleye, given him cuts on his body. The victim is said to be receiving treatment at a private hospital in the Ijofi area of Ilesha as at the time this report was given.
