A Bayelsa State father is currently at large after he reportedly killed his two-year-old child.

Naija News understands that the suspect, Vwede, who is a resident of Imiringi road in Yenagoa, the state capital, had beaten his child to a pulp after which the toddler died.

Reports revealed that on Sunday, September 26, Vwede after mercilessly flogging his child for an offence, took him to a hospital along the Ruthmore Hotel road at Immiringi when he discovered the boy had lost consciousness.

The wicked father, however, took to his heels immediately hospital staff informed him that the boy had died.

The hospital staff is said to have contacted the Police and the non-governmental organisation, Do Foundation, which is involved in the campaign against gender violence and protection of the child, Naija News learnt.

The mother of the killed child is said to have abandoned him with his father after birth.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, Spokesman of the State Police Command, SP Asinim Butswat, revealed that the father had since run away and his whereabouts are unknown at the moment.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old kidnap kingpin recently arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force in Katsina State has said he saw nothing wrong with banditry and kidnapping until he was arrested by security operatives.

Naija News reports that the State Police Command on Wednesday, September 29, arraigned the suspect, Surajo Mamman, better known as Kutaku. Confessing his crimes at the force headquarters during the parade, Kutaku said he has lost count of people he killed and kidnapped.
