‘Enabling The Digital Economy’: CyberChain 2021 Cybersecurity Conference Set To Hold [Photos]

Cyberchain 2021 – a Cybersecurity and Blockchain Conference – is set to hold at the Lagos Oriental Hotel.

The conference tagged ‘Enabling The Digital Economy’ will take place on the 19th & 20th of November 2021.

Speaking at a media parley on Tuesday, Cyberchain convener, Jude Ozinegbe, who stated that this will be the third edition of the conference, disclosed that the 2021 conference is designed to talk about leading technologies in Nigeria which include Blockchain.

He said that the first day of the event will focus on Blockchain and its effect on the economy.

According to Ozinegbe, topics on e-sport – gaming – and Cybersecurity will be discussed by professionals at day one of the event.

He added that day two will focus on hands-on experience on Cybersecurity.

The convener said by hands-on experience, he means a Hackathon (Cybersecurity competition) amongst hackers.

Registering for this Hackathon, according to Ozinegbe, will commence today on cyberchain website and end on the 3rd of October.

He disclosed that between the 3rd of October and the end of the month, competitors will have a cloud based task and successful candidate will come for the grand finale on the 20th of November.

The winner will walk up with $1000, second place goes home with $500, third position gets $300, while the fourth and fifth get gifts like smart phones and others.

Ozigbene said those eligible to participate include junior level programmers, developers, amongst others.

According to him, competitors will be working on CTF (capture the flag).

On the benefits of the Hackathon, cyberchain convener stated this should help startups get good programmers and developers to deal with issues they have.

He also added that the programme with help to discourage unethical hacking, which in our local language means Yahoo Yahoo (internet fraud).
