BREAKING: Seven Worshippers Killed As Bandits Attack Kaduna Mosque

Bandit terrorists have attacked two police stations and residents of Shinkafi town in Zamfara State.

It was gathered that the bandits stormed the town on Thursday evening shooting sporadically.

Though details of the attack remains sketchy as mobile networks remains shut down in Shinkafi as many other area in the northwest.

It was gathered that the bandits carted away arms from the ransacked police stations.

A resident of the town who spoke to Daily Trust from Sokoto confirmed the initial social media report on the attack, Friday morning.

He said the armed men, who operated for about an hour, arrived the town when residents were observing the magrib prayer at sunset.

The source stated that the attack came following a threat letter to the community earlier that day.

He stated that two bandits’ leaders near the community, Kachalla Turji and Halilu Sububu, announced a joint mission to attack Shinkafi and its environs.

Shinkafi is the last major town on the road linking Zamfara with the neighbouring Sokoto State. Bandits had in the past attacked the town at various times.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has debunked the report claiming that the Federal Government has released suspected sponsors of Boko Haram.

Malami noted that none of the suspected sponsors of terrorism in the country have been released by any court since their detention.

This is coming after reports emerged claiming that some of the suspects in custody have been released on the order of the minister.

Malami also condemned the report that he was bribed to release some suspected financiers of Boko Haram.

The minister in a statement released through his media aide, Jibrilu Gwandu, disclosed that the suspects are in custody in an undisclosed location.
