Ondo University To Rusticate Students For Indecent Dressing

The management of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State has threatened that any student convicted of indecent dressing on campus will be punished with rustication.

The decision was taken by the Senate of the institution as made known in a statement by the school Registrar, Olugbenga Arajulu.

The statement warned that moral standards must be upheld in the school and any student found wanting of the ‘sin’ of indecent dressing faces rustication from the school for a semester as punishment.

The statement from the school authorities conveying their decision was contained in a circular signed by the Registrar with reference number AD/ REG/CIR/58/VOL. VI/309.

Some of the dress modes highlighted in the circular not allowed in the school premises as it affects both male and female students include “wearing of skimpy skirts and blouses; leaving cleavages open by female students; and wearing of braids or dreadlocks, earrings, nose rings, tattered jeans, sagging etc by some male students.

“Any student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, who violates the above Senate decision on indecent dressing is deemed to have committed a misconduct and he/she shall be sanctioned accordingly. Please be guided.”

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police (NACMP) has issued an arrest warrant for a female army officer, Lieutenant Chika Viola Anele, caught on camera punishing a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Ezeiruaku Ifeyinwa Fidelia in Cross River State after an alleged argument between the duo.

Naija News understands that a female military, Lt. Chika, sparked outrage on social media after she was caught on camera punishing Fidelia in Cross River after arguing.

In the video, the officer is seen pouring an unknown white substance on the kneeling Corps member after which she hit her with the bowl.

Sharing the video on social media, Journalist Agba Jalingo, said the incident happened at the 13 Brigade headquarters in Calabar.
