UNGA: Nigeria Has Recorded More Success In Fighting Terrorism - Buhari

A source in the Presidency has noted that President Muhammadu Buhari will not under go another COVID-19 test upon his arrival in the country.

This is coming after the Minister of Health in Brazil, Marcelo Queiroga tested positive for COVID-19 at the ongoing United Nations General Assembly.

The source further stated President Buhari did not have any contact with the minister at the UNGA.

It was reported that Queiroga tested positive for the virus after attending UNGA in New York which was inaugurated by his President, Jair Bolsonaro.

The statement released on the development revealed that Queiroga, who had received a COVID-19 vaccine, is the second member of the Brazilian delegation to test positive for the virus at the event.

Queiroga will quarantine in the US even as the rest of the delegation has returned to Brazil.

A source in the Presidency that spoke with Punch, said President Buhari does not need a new test because there was no known contact between both leaders.

Meanwhile, Buhari on Wednesday declared that Federal Government has initiated some specific actions to tackle and reverse the severe trend of biodiversity loss which affects the whole world.

Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

The President spoke in a video message to the hybrid High-Level event tagged “Transformative Actions for Nature and People” on the margins of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 76).
