Top Nollywood actors including Jide Kosoko, Ejike Asiagbu, Yemi Solade, Emeka Osai and many other filmmakers have picketed Radisson Blu Hotel in Lagos, as instigated by the Audio-visual Rights Society (AVRS).

Naija News reports that the group accused the hospitality outfit located in Ikeja GRA of refusal to pay for use of their intelligent properties in their different branches.

AVRS boss, Mahmood Alli-Balogun, who is also the Chairman of the Copyright Management Organisation, said Radisson Blu owes the copyright collective society close to N50 million.

He disclosed that all efforts to meet, discuss and negotiate with the management of the hotel, met the brick walls, hence the protest.

Other actors who protested at the scene include Alli-Balogun, Grace Amah, Yinka Akanbi, Sunny Mcdon, and Fred Amata.

The creatives led by the Copyright Management Organisation, Audio Visuals Right Society on Tuesday disrupted services at the hotel for what they have described as the management’s refusal to pay royalties for its use of audio-visual contents in its chain of hotels.

According to Ali-Balogun, picketting became a last resort for the actors after months of dialogue and negotiations broke down without any agreement being reached.
