Abductors Kill Former Local Govt Chairman In Benue State

There is anxiety in the Kabba community of Kogi State following an attack by gunmen in which not less than three persons have been confirmed kidnapped.

This is as Naija News gathered that some gunmen on Wednesday invaded the community, shot sporadically into the air to scare people away, and kidnapped three persons before disappearing into thin air.

The incident comes just as residents of the community are still recovering from a daring raid by gunmen who stormed the Nigeria Correctional Service facility in Kabba, killed soldiers, injured other security operatives, and freed about 240 prisoners.

In the fresh attack that happened on Wednesday, the victims have been identified as a staff of the College of Education Technical Kabba, Olorunpomi Damilola, Pastor Mayowa Otitola, and a third person whose identity was unknown as at press time.

The victims were said to have been kidnapped from a farm in Kabba community at the back of Christ Apostolic Church, Egbeda – Kabba.

Confirming the incident, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP William Aya said the story is true, adding that security operatives are already on the trail of the kidnappers.

Meanwhile, the suspected kidnappers of students of Greenfield University and the Bethel Baptist High School in Kaduna State have been arrested.

Kaduna Police Command spokesman, Mohammed Jalige, stated this on Thursday while parading the suspects at the Command’s Headquarters along Bida Road in the state capital.

Jalige added that the police have arrested abductors of the 37 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka area of the state.

Jalige said one Usman Mohammed from Bukuyum in Zamfara State was arrested by operatives of the command in connection with the kidnap of the students of Greenfield University, Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, as well as Bethel Baptist High School, all in the state.
