Presidency Mocks Fani-Kayode Over Defection To APC

The Presidency has mocked former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode over his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News earlier reported that the former minister officially had dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling APC.

In a post attaching pictures of FFK and the President via Facebook on Thursday, presidential aide, Tolu Ogunlesi, described Fani-Kayode as “somebody” who has come and joined the APC.

Ogunlesi disclosed that despite several criticisms from the former minister against President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC in the past, the Nigerian leader still received him.

He applauded the President for having a large heart and being magnanimous in welcoming Fani-Kayode to the APC.

“Today at the State House, Abuja: Somebody has come and joined the APC. And a large-hearted and magnanimous President received him. Because that’s the essential Buhari for you,” he wrote.

Fani-Kayode, whose move to the APC did not come as a surprise to many, met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Thursday.

He was brought to the Villa by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the APC, and governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.

According to the former minister, he was led by the Spirit of God in his decision and that he joined the APC to help for the unity of the country.

Fani-Kayode added that he was against anything that would cause the disintegration of Nigeria.

He revealed that he was instrumental in the exit of three PDP governors to the APC.

According to him, the governors he influenced their defection were Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Bello Matawale of Zamfara State.
