Pantanmi Reveals Why EFCC Chairman Slumped In Aso Rock

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has reacted to the collapse of the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa.

Naija News earlier reported that the EFCC boss slumped while making a speech at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on Thursday during an event organized by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

However, the EFCC has assured members of the public that its chairman is hale and hearty after receiving medical attention.

In a short statement from its Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, the anti-graft agency has assured that Bawa is doing fine and is expected back at his desk within the shortest possible time.

The statement reads: “The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa is hale and hearty.

“This clarification became necessary following an incident today September 16, 2021, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja where he was giving a goodwill message to the National Identity Day celebration, felt unwell, and had to return to his seat.

“He has since received medical attention and is due back at his desk.”

Reacting to the development, Pantami stated that Bawa collapsed due to work pressure and burden.

The minister asked Nigerians to pray for the EFCC boss, noting that he has regained consciousness after being rushed to the statehouse clinic.
