Governor Hope Uzodinma has stated that southeast leaders are backing the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari because he is ‘insensitive’ to the yearnings of Imo people.

Uzodinma stated this while speaking to Channels Television in what appears to be a slip of the tongue.

Naija News recalls despite threats by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), President Buhari visited Imo State on Thursday based on the invitation of Governor Hope Uzodinma, commissioned some projects, and left without any recorded incident.

Buhari had commissioned some projects which include Naze-Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze Link Road Phase One, an underground tunnel on D-Tiger Road Owerri, the Egbeada Bye-Pass, and the new State Executive Council Chambers at the Government House, among others.

Speaking on the president’s visit, Uzodinma said: “What is important to me is that Mr President visited and you could see the excitement of the entire Igbo nation.

“The leadership received Mr President, commended Mr President, pledged to support Mr President’s government and policies.

“When we say this, we mean it. We meant every inch of the word — that we are supporting the president; we are supporting his administration, and we are supporting his policies, because Mr President has shown sufficient interest in terms of pragmatic approach in listening and being insensitive to the yearnings of Imolites and Igbo people in general.”
