Niger: Scores Killed As Fleeing Bandit Terrorists Run Into Military Camp

Heightened military operations against bandits in Zamfara and Katsina has forced the fleeing terrorists to run into soldiers at Maganda village near Allawa in Shiroro LGA of Niger State.

The bandits, according to PUNCH, ran into the military camp in Allawa while escaping through the notorious Allawa Forest in their hundreds.

It was gathered that the terrorists had engaged the soldiers in a serious gun battle for several hours.

Though a soldier is reported to be missing after the clash, scores of the bandits were killed while several others succeeded in escaping with bullet wounds.

A source at Allawa community said, “In fact from the dead bodies that we saw, they look like foreigners, all of them are carrying long hair like women.

“They don’t have resemblance of Nigerians and they don’t know the terrain that was why they ran into the soldiers. They did not know that there is soldiers camp there.”

It was gathered that soldiers recovered about six machine guns and a number of AK-47 riffles and bags of ammunitions.

Naija News reports that the Nigerian military has ramped up their operations against bandits in the northwest region.

This has been aided my extreme measures carried out by state governors to make life unbearable for the terrorists.

Some of those measures include the shutting down of mobile networks, ban placed on selling petroleum products, shutting down of some markets, among many others.
