Buhari Travels To Yobe State After Campaigning In Adamawa State

President Muhammadu Buhari is set to travel to the United States to attend the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Naija News gathered that the President will depart Abuja on Sunday, September 19 to attend the conference which will be declared open on Tuesday, September 14 and end on September 27, 2021.

A presidential source told SaharaReporters that Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari, has already travelled out of the country.

“The UN programme is starting on September 18. The Chief of Staff has already left for the USA on Thursday with some people working with him, including his personal Assistant, Luqman Bosun Emiola.

“No one knows when they will be back but they are not supposed to have any business with the President’s trip.

“Buhari will be attending the UN General Assembly but the Chief of Staff already left,” the source said.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari says the finger of corruption cannot be pointed at him as he has kept himself free of corrupt acquisitions.

The nation’s number one political leader stated this on Thursday during his one-day working visit to Imo State.

Buhari during a town hall meeting with Igbo leaders in Imo on Thursday also spoke about the deteriorating security situations in Nigeria.

He said if there is no security, there is nothing anyone can do no matter how much the person tries or the initiative he has.

Buhari who is left with just less than two years off his current tenure said if citizens feel secured, they will mind their own business.

Buhari said: ‘‘Security is number one priority and then the economy. When people feel secure they will mind their own business,’’

President Buhari stressed that he would continue to strive to leave a lasting legacy of integrity and accountability in the system.
