One Mark Onuoha, 48, is on the verge of spending a year in jail for allegedly assaulting a woman in Lagos.

Naija News understands that Onuoha is accused of beating and biting off a woman’s ear.

However, appearing before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday, the accused whose address was not provided, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

The prosecutor, Insp Christian Okonofua, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Aug. 31 at 7 at Itowolo, Ikorodu area of Lagos state. He labelled Onuoha with assault and causing grievous bodily harm.

Okonofua said the defendant assaulted one Mrs Rebecca Amosun by beating her up and biting off her left ear. The prosecutor explained further that Onuoha’s offences contravene Sections 245 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs T. A. Shotobi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N25,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Shotobi adjourned the case until Sept. 13 for mention.

In another news, the Denton Divisional Police Officer, CSP Adegoke Akinlade, has reacted to the allegation of detaining his lover, Jennifer Madueke, after losing his pistol following an alleged intimacy with her.

Akinlade who confirmed that he lost his pistol accused Madueke of stealing his service gun and #50,000.

Naija News had earlier reported that a source accused the DPO of sleeping with Madueke and taking her to a herbalist to confess.
