Ex-Lawmaker Shehu Sani Reacts To Buhari’s Imo Visit

Former Nigerian lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s Thursday visit to Imo State.

Naija News reports that Buhari visited Imo on Thursday to commission notable projects in the state.

The projects completed by Governor Hope Uzodinma government include Naze-Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze Link Road Phase One, an underground tunnel on D-Tiger Road Owerri, the Egbeada Bye-Pass, and the new State Executive Council Chambers at the Government House, among others.

The colourful event was witnessed by traditional rulers, top government officials and stakeholders in Imo State.

Naija News reports that streets, banks and schools were deserted by residents of Imo state as a result of Buhari’s arrival in the state.

The development is in line with the order by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. The Biafra group had ordered residents of Imo State to sit-at-home in protest of Buhari’s visit. The secessionists had said the president is not welcome to the state.

However, the former Kaduna central senator has lamented turnouts during the reception of the country’s number one political leader in the state.

According to Sani, the people of Imo denied Buhari a colourful reception upon arrival.

Naija News understands that Sani made the claims in a series of posts on his microblogging platform, Twitter.

Shehu Sani’s tweet reads: “Sweetheart in the Heartland; He came with colourful Isiagu, you denied him colourful reception.

“Buhari in the Heartland of Ndigbo; my friend Mallam Hopullah Uzodinmawy is happy.”
