Insecurity, Other Problems Won't Stop APC From Winning 2023 Elections - Masari

The National Communications Commission (NCC) has denied reports circulating on social media that it has ordered telecommunications companies to shut down mobile networks in Katsina State.

Governor Aminu Bello Masari’s Director of Information, Alhaji Abdul Labaran, confirmed this in a press statement issued in Katsina on Monday.

He said the chairman of the NCC, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, who spoke to the state government, described the story as a hoax.

Danbatta also said that the letter circulating on social media was a distorted version of the one published on Zamfara State last week.

Alhaji Labaran then advised the public to dismiss the story as baseless and unfounded as it was not from the NCC.

Naija News recalls that the NCC last week directed all telecommunications companies to cut off mobile networks in Zamfara State as part of the measures being taken to combat militant activities in the state.
