Katsina: After Abducting SSG’s Brother, Bandit Terrorists Return To Abduct Deputy Speaker’s Sister

In a worrying development, bandits have abducted the younger sister of the Deputy Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Shehu Tafoki.

The victim, identified as Asma’u Dalhatu was said to be preparing for her wedding ceremony before she was kidnapped on Sunday, 5th September.

She was abducted from the residence of the village head which is her family house around 1am on Sunday.

The incident has been confirmed by the lawmaker himself.

Naija News gathered that the bandit terrorists executed their criminal activity in Tafoki village, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State early on Sunday morning around 1am.

Two sisters were initially kidnapped but one of them was able to escape as the criminals ran into the village vigilantes and a gunfight ensued just as they were about to exit the village.

The other sister was however not as lucky.

Speaking on the development, Hon.Tafoki narrated to Daily Trust: “Yes, it is true that my younger sister, Asma’u Dalhatu, was abducted by bandits in the early hours of Sunday. They stormed the town around 1am and headed straight to the village head’s residence, which is our family house and kidnapped two of our sisters.,” he said.

“On their way to the forest, they encountered some members of the vigilante group and exchanged gunfire. In the process, one of the girls escaped and returned home, but the other could not run away, so they went away with her.” he said.

As of the time of filing the report, the kidnappers had not made any ransom demand.

Meanwhile, the kidnap comes only a few hours after bandit terrorists also abducted Kabir Muhammad Inuwa, a brother to the Secretary to the Katsina State Government (SSG), Mustapha Inuwa.

It was gathered that Kabir was abducted on Wednesday when the gunmen attacked his farm in a village called Daftau, in Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.

“He is a stepbrother of the SSG; the same father but not the same mother. He was abducted on his farm. He is much older than the SSG and a retired police officer,“ a source told SaharaReporters on Friday.

President Muhammadu Buhari is from Katsina State.
