French professional footballer, Paul Pogba has reacted to ‘goal machine’, Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United.

The central midfielder said he’s optimistic the Portugal international would raise the level of the Red Devils’ team.

Naija News reports that Ronaldo arrived at Old Trafford during to United last weekend, days after agreeing to a two-year contract with the option to extend for another year.

The 36-year-old forward who joined the club from Serie A side Juventus arrived at a private terminal at Manchester Airport and was welcomed by the club’s technical director, Darren Fletcher.

Ronaldo returned to the English Premier League club 12 years after a spell at Real Madrid and Juventus respectively. During his first spell at United, the goalscorer netted 118 goals in 292 appeases, winning three Premier League titles and one Champions League trophy.

Ronaldo is expected to make his second debut for United at home against Newcastle this Saturday.

Speaking on the Portuguese’s return to United, Pogba described him as a great player, admitting how lucky he is to play alongside the former Red.

It’s always a pleasure to play with the best, it’s a plus for the players to be able to train with a great player,” Pogba told Telefoot.

He added: “He’s going to raise the level of the team.”
