The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the time is now right for all party stakeholders to work together for victory in the Anambra governorship election.

The party said this in a reaction to the ruling of the Appeal Court on Friday which confirmed Valentine Ozigbo as the PDP candidate for the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State.

It will be recalled as reported by Naija News that a three-man panel of the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, led by the President of the Court of Appeal, Honorable Justice Monica Dongban- Mensem, affirmed Valentine Ozigbo as the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Anambra Governorship election.

Reacting to the development, the PDP in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan expressed delight with the court verdict and thanked the judiciary for saving the party.

Ologbondiyan also called on all members and supporters of the party to work towards victory at the polls y closing ranks and putting the past behind them.

The statement said: “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) receives with delight, the judgement of the Court of Appeal, which affirmed its candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, for the November 6, 2021 Anambra state governorship election.”

“The party thanks the judiciary for restoring peace and unity in the PDP as well as strengthening the confidence of the people in the PDP ahead of the election.”

“The PDP notes that with the judgement, the time has come for all members, critical stakeholders and teeming supporters of our party to come together as a family to work in the interest of our party and our candidate, Ozigbo, knowing that the people of Anambra state are waiting for the PDP to restore the loses of the past years under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).”

“The PDP thanks all stakeholders of our party for their resilience in keeping our ranks closed despite the challenges, while enjoining all members to put the past behind and work in the renewed hope that awaits us on November 6.”

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Desmond Akawor has claimed that one of the sins of embattled National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus was that he rejected the decision of Southern governors that the next President of Nigeria should come from the South.
