Ronaldo Boasts, Says Italian Serie A Was Dead Before He Joined Juventus

English Premier League champions, Manchester City are reportedly eager to get Cristiano Ronaldo over to their side and ready to give it all it takes.

City had in the previous transfer window traded its former striker, Sergio Aguero to Spanish football giants, FC Barcelona, Naija News recalls.

To boost their chase for another league trophy this summer, Pep Guardiola’s side needs a striker and Ronaldo has been identified as a perfect replacement for Aguero.

According to Italian transfer expert, Gianluca Di Marzio, City are ready to offer the Portugal international between €14m-15m a year in wages to join them from Juventus.

If all things work well, Ronaldo who is in the last 11 months of his current contract with the Serie A club will leave Juve to Etihad this summer.

City, however, has until the transfer deadline on Tuesday to complete the 36-year-old striker’s deal or look elsewhere, Naija News reports.

Meanwhile, a new football ranking has revealed former FC Barcelona captain now Paris Saint-Germain player, Lionel Messi, as the possible winner of the 2021 Ballon d’Or.

Naija News reported that two English Premier League players, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante who both play for Chelsea were respectively ranked second and third on the power ranking behind the Argentine footballer.

Messi had won six Ballon D’or with Barcelona and could claim the most coveted individual award again with the Ligue 1 side.
