The provost of the Federal College of Education Technical, Gusau, Dr Umar Bello has revealed how the school management is handling viral letters of a threat issued to the institution by bandits.

Naija News learnt that the alleged letter of a threat sent to the college by bandit terrorists had gone viral on social media earlier.

Confirming the receipt of the said threat letter in a statement dated August 25, Bello noted that security agencies have been informed of the development.

He assured students and staff of the college that necessary measures have been put in place to safeguard the lives of everyone.

According to the Provost, the threat letter was no longer a secret as it has been in circulation, pointing out that when the letter went viral on social media platforms, the college authorities contacted the security agencies and the military, for quick intervention.

Bello stressed further that local security outlets were as well engaged to support the existing security architecture of the college.

The Provost also noted that the school management had before the threat, engaged the services of Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp operatives, all to give the college a well-coordinated security network.

While praying all concerned bodies to be vigilant, Dr Bello commended security chiefs in the state for their proactive response and for watching over the college area.
