Defence Chief Visits NDA After Bandits’ Attack

'Armed Forces Are Well Disciplined' - Defence Chief Reacts To Lagos #EndSARS Report

Following the attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna State on Tuesday, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, has visited the military facility for an on-the-spot assessment.

Naija News had reported that the attack, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, resulted in the deaths of two officers and the kidnap of another.

Irabor, who had been on a tour of the North-East region, visited the defence academy in Kaduna on Wednesday to get first-hand information on the incident and to plan the rescue of the kidnapped military officer.

He was briefed on arrival by the NDA Commandant, Major General IM Yusuf before he was taken to the scene of the incident.

Recall that Irabor has condemned the attack on the NDA, liking the incident to an armed robbery in someone’s residence.

Irabor stated that the solution to the Northern security challenges lie in the region, adding that the situation would get better soon.

The CDS, however, appreciated the people of the North-East for supporting military operations, calling on residents to provide credible information to the military.

Addressing the incident while speaking with newsmen in Yola, the Adamawa capital, Irabor expressed concern over attacks by bandits, but assured that security agencies are on top of the situation.

The incident in Kaduna has been undertaken by bandits, but it’s more of an armed robber coming to your house. The infiltration didn’t come by virtue of the normal banditry action. But these are things we’re already looking at, and in due course, you’ll get the details.

“Suffice to say, any form of insecurity is a cause of worry for anyone. That’s why for us, we’re more determined than this madness must be brought to an end very swiftly,” he had said.
