Troops Repel Boko Haram Attack In Borno, Recover Ammunition [SEE LIST]

The Multinational Joint Task Force on Sunday said its troops successfully repelled a fresh attack by Boko Haram insurgents at Gambari axis, Gajiram Town in Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State.

Col. Mohammed Dole, Chief Information Officer, made the disclosure in a statement on Sunday.

Dole disclosed that the troops of MNJTF Sector 3 Monguno came under heavy attack along Gajiram following ambush by the insurgents.

He explained that the troops engaged the insurgents in a fierce battle and repelled the attack.

Dole revealed that the troops neutralised four of the Boko Haram terrorists, recovered several high calibre ammunition from the insurgents while they fled with gunshot wounds.

The items recovered are:

– 3 AK 47 rifles

– 10 united 7.62mm special rounds

– 1 unit 36 HG

– 1 Magazine Carrier

– Assorted drugs

– 1 Hair comb

– 1 car charger

– 2 touch light

– 1 Tecno phone set

–  A bag of beans.

According to him, one solder unfortunately sustained injury, and he is receiving treatment at a military medical facility.

Earlier, the Force Commander MNJTF Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim had charged troops to maintain the tempo and adopt aggressive posture in dealing with insurgents with a view to denying them freedom of action.
