President Buhari To Embark On Another Trip After Numerous Trips In Three Month

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday morning departed Abuja the Federal Capital city for Yola in Adamawa State on a condolence visit.

The President’s mission in Yola is to commiserate with the government and people of Adamawa State as well as the family of the late Alhaji Ahmed Joda.

Confirming the President’s departure, Bashir Ahmad in a Facebook post wrote: “President Muhammadu Buhari departs Abuja for Yola to condole with people and government of Adamawa State over the death of Alhaji Ahmed Joda OFR, CON, CFR (13 February 1930 – 13 August 2021).”

Naija News recalls Joda, who headed the 2015 Transition Committee of President Muhammadu Buhari, died on Friday, 13th August 2021 at the age of 90 while the President was in London, United Kingdom.

Joda was a retired Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industries, and rose to become one of the super Permanent Secretaries under the military government of Gen Yakubu Gowon (retd.) in the 1970s.

He served as chairman and board member of various companies including; the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Nigerian Communications Commission, Pastoral Resolve, Chagoury Group, and the Flour Mills of Nigeria.

He was also a member of the 1988 Constituent Assembly which planned the constitutional transition of the Third Nigerian Republic.

In 1999, he was appointed in the committee to advise the Olusegun Obasanjo’s Presidency on Poverty Alleviation and in 2015, he headed the Muhammadu Buhari presidential transition team.

President Buhari’s son, Yusuf Buhari will today Friday marry his lover the daughter of the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero, Zahra.

Dignitaries from within and outside the country have already started arriving in Kano to grace the presidential and royal wedding.
