The Osun State Government believed that the newly intake of South-West Security Network Agency, better known as Amotekun corps after training, will become a security blanket for the citizens.

The Chairman of the Governing Board of Osun State Security Network Agency, Brigadier General Isah Aderibigbe, who spoke during the inspection of the new recruits at their training camp on Monday, said the corps will curb security challenges faced in the state.

Naija News understands that the training of the first batch of successful candidates for the Osun State Amotekun has taken off at the Wole Soyinka Government High School, Ejigbo, Osun State.

In his remarks, Aderibigbe stated that exceptional instructors would train the recruits to discharge their duties as expected, adding that members of the Amotekun corps would be deployed for immediate operation after their training.

Ninety (90) out of the new Amotekun recruits in Osun are women, Naija News understands.

While charging the recruits to obey all instructions given to them at the training camp, General Aderibigbe expressed hope that after the training, they would become persons of quality who would use the expertise learnt in camp to protect the lives and properties of citizens in the State.

On his part, the Corp Commander, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinbi warned criminal elements using Osun State as a safe haven to vacate because the corps would not take criminals activities lightly again.

The Camp Commandant and Chief Instructor, Captain Ajibolu Fatai, had repeatedly urged the recruits to take their training serious because knowledge acquired during training would be useful on the field.

He disclosed that after their training, they were expected to counter any security challenge in the state.

The new intakes are expected to do their passing out parade on Saturday 4th of September, 2021.
