Tottenham is reportedly in talks to sign Kurt Zouma, a French professional footballer who plays as centre-back for Chelsea.

English Premier League counterpart, West Ham had earlier shown interest in the 26-year-old player. It was reported in some quarters earlier that Tottenham is in talks to also sign Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic.

The English club, however, topped the chart of seeking Zouma’s move out of Stamford Bridge this summer. Sky Sports News had reported that Zouma’s preference is to remain in London amid interest from West Ham.

The centre-back is West Ham’s primary target, with the Frenchman open to a move to the London Stadium, although difficulty lies in the valuation – with Chelsea thought to want in the region of £25m – and Zouma’s wages.

However, if agreement could not be reached for Zouma, the Frenchman is happy to remain at Chelsea, where he has a contract that runs until 2023.

Zouma was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s opening Premier League win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, and played 66 minutes over their UEFA Super Cup victory against Villarreal, Naija News understands.

Meanwhile, the Champions League winners have also been exploring using Zouma as part of a deal to sign Sevilla’s Jules Kunde.
