A popular chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State and federal lawmaker, Hon Adedayo Omolafe, is dead.

Naija News reports that Omolafe, the lawmaker representing Akure South/Akure North Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, died around 2 am on Monday.

It was learned that Omolafe popularly called ‘Expensive’ was still active through the weekend before giving up the ghost in his home in Akure, the state capital.

According to one of his close associates, the lawmaker was not sick as he was with his constituents on Sunday.

“Expensive was not sick, we were still together yesterday (Sunday) morning, this is so sad, a terrible blow dealt on Akure,” he said.

Omolafe, who was the former chairman of Akure South LGA between 2003 and 2009, is the fifth lawmaker to have died in the Green chamber in 2021 and the seventh in the Ninth Assembly.

He died four months after the passing of Suleiman Aliyu, a member of the green chamber from Kaduna state.
