Facts Emerge On How PDP Chieftain Adedayo Omolafe Died

More light has been shed on how popular chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State and federal lawmaker, Hon Adedayo Omolafe, died.

There had been claims following the announcement of his death on Monday morning that the lawmaker was not sick before his death around 2 am.

Naija News learned that the lawmaker representing Akure South/Akure North Federal Constituency in the National Assembly was still active through the weekend before giving up the ghost.

According to sources close to the lawmaker, Omolafe after attending to some of his constituents on Sunday, visited his farm, located on Irese road in Akure, the Ondo State capital, to inspect ongoing work.

The source who spoke with Daily Post on condition of anonymity noted that the lawmaker upon his arrival at home, after his meal vomited and thereafter complained of headache.

The source added that the lawmaker at a point became unconscious and was rushed to a private hospital in Akure where he was referred to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owo.

“He was hale and hearty on Sunday while they were together. He later went to his farm. After returning from the farm, he ate his food but he vomited it.

“Oga later complained of a headache. Oga was unconscious and we rushed him to FMC, Owo, where he gave up the ghost,” the source said.

It was disclosed that the lawmaker on getting to FMC, his blood pressure had risen above 300.

The lawmaker’s daughter, Modupe Adebayo also noted that her father became unconscious after complaining of a headache and was taken to FMC where he breathed his last.

A Senior Legislative Aide to the lawmaker, Tope Fakinlede said efforts to revive the lawmaker proved abortive until he was pronounced dead in the early hours of Monday.
