I Became An Enemy To My Colleagues For Disclosing My Salary, Allowance As Senator - Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has described the reports of another fresh abduction of students and staff of the College of Agriculture, Bakura, Zamfara State as a tragic news.

It will be recalled that Naija News had reported that some students and teachers of the College of Agriculture and Animal Health in Bakura, Zamfara State have been abducted by gunmen.

The development was confirmed by the Deputy Registrar of the college, Aliyu Bakura while speaking with BBC Hausa.

Reacting to the news, the former lawmaker lamented the security situation in Nigeria despite the heavy budgets and spendings on the nation’s security sector.

He lamented that even the security operatives expected to protect citizens were killed by the gunmen.

Taking to his Twitter account on Monday morning, Sani wrote: “We woke up with a tragic news of mass abductions of students and staff at the college of Agriculture Bakura, Zamfara state yesternight. That the bandits also killed some security personnel. Another tragedy. Budget upon Budget for defence; Where are our security apparatuses?”

Meanwhile, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused a militia group, Otokoto boys, of being behind the killings and beheading of some Imo residents.

In a statement on Sunday by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, IPOB claimed that the militia group had found their way back to the state with the help of the Imo State government led by Hope Uzodinma.

IPOB lamented that Otokoto boys who were chased out of the state during the Otokoto riot of 1996 are responsible for the killings and destruction of properties in the state.

The outlawed group also asked the people of the state to hold Otokoto boys responsible for future killings and destruction of government facilities in the state.

It, however, challenged Imo State elders and political elites to be bold enough to question Uzodimma on why the alleged criminals have made their way back to the state.
