The spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has given an update on the resolution of the crisis rocking the party.

Recall that the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Aminu Tambuwal, had announced that the party’s national convention has been moved from December to October.

According to Tambuwal, the decision is an overt gesture to placate the group agitating for the immediate removal of the National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus.

But in an interview with BBC News Yoruba on Tuesday, Ologbondiyan said party stakeholders have now come together to ensure that peace reigns in the party.

The PDP spokesman asked members to also adhere to the constitution of the party ahead of the National Convention.

Ologbondiyan added that now that the crisis is over, the party is putting its house in order so that it will be able to defeat the ruling APC in 2023.

Speaking further, Ologbondiyan scored the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) very low in its major promises to Nigerians.

He said: “Prior to the 2015 elections, the APC were misbehaving, solely because they want power. But being a party that has been in government before, we have got the know-how on governance because when we were in power, Nigerians were not suffering, like we are seeing today.

“If we are to grade the APC, they scored zero. This is because they cannot point to any significant achievement, most especially in the area of security.”
