NEMA Warns Ondo, Delta, 17 Other States To Prepare For Flood

Many passengers including a serving Nigerian Senator were stranded when heavy rainfall prevented movement along the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

The Senator caught in the incident is Kogi West Senator, Sam Adeyemi.

Naija News gathered that a four-hour rainfall caused flooding of the popular highway, making it impossible for vehicles to move on the road.

Unfortunately, three buses were swept off the highway in the aftermath of the heavy rainfall which made it impossible for many vehicles from Abuja to proceed to Lokoja, Okene, and the Southern parts.

Speaking on the development, The Nation reported Adeyemi as lamenting that “The flood was devastating. I witnessed how some vehicles were swept away from the highway.

“I and many travellers can no longer continue with our journey. We have become stranded. There is no other way than to turn back to Abuja.”

Another passenger, Hadiza Abdulkareem said: “We have waited for 45 minutes for the flood to subside.

“I think the relevant agencies should sustain the warning enlightenment to travellers in this rainy season.”

Meanwhile, the founder and presiding bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo has explained that he is always on white suits because it is cheap.

According to the popular clergy, the white colour of materials is cheaper to get and also maintain.

Bishop Oyedepo made the revelation on Friday during a sermon in which he addressed why he frequently appears in public wearing a white suit.

According to him, wearing the colour white makes it easier to maintain the cost of fashion and even if the suit is fading, the colour remains white.
