We Won’t Allow Old, Sick People In 2023 – Arewa Youths

The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, AYCF, on Friday, issued a warning to old politicians planning to run in the 2023 presidential election.

The National President of the forum, Yerima Shettima, noted that the group would not allow the recycling of old, weak, and sick Nigerians as president.

Shettima in the statement released on Friday said democracy does not encourage a weak, tired and politically compromised leader.

According to Shettima: “Going forward, the AYFC will never allow the recycling of old, weak and sick citizens as leaders of this nation, more so in a fast-changing and competitive world.”

“Much as democracy gives everyone the right to contest for any elective office, it does not encourage the emergence of tired, weak, politically compromised, sick and overly unproductive persons as leaders of this modern society”.

The statement is coming at the time there is speculation that the national leader of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar might contest in 2023.
