Oyo: Makinde Reappoints Seven Former Commissioners

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has returned seven immediate past Commissioners into the Executive Council.

Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, made this known during plenary on Monday.

According to the speaker, the House received the list of the seven Commissioner-nominees from the executive arm.

Ogundoyin added that the House will, on Wednesday, screen the seven immediate past Commissioners who are set to return.

The set-to-be-returned Commissioners are the then Commissioner for Finance, Akinola Ojo; former Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Dahud Sangodoyin; Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Alhaji Siju Lawal.

Others are former Commissioner for Justice, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo; former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Bayo Lawal; then Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Seun Ashamu and former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Faosat Sanni.

After their screening on Wednesday, the names of the Commissioners are expected to reel out and confirmed at Thursday’s plenary.

This comes five weeks after Governor Seyi Makinde announced the sack of Chief of Staff, Chief Bisi Ilaka and 17 commissioners.
