Arsenal is interested in signing highly-rated midfielder, Manuel Locatelli but will have to beat off competition from Juventus and another yet-to-be-named English Premier League side.

Locatelli’s agent recently revealed that the Gunners had made a £34million bid

Sassuolo’s CEO, Giovanni Carnevali, has also confirmed that Arsenal has submitted a bid for Locatelli, but there are other clubs also interested in the player.

The 23-year-old forward after last season’s brilliant outing with Sassuolo, also had an impressive run with the Italian National Team at the Euro 2020 tournament as they went on to lift the trophy.

This further attracted more interest for the player from teams in Italy and abroad.

Sassuolo boss, Carnevali has now confirmed they are ready to do business but the right price must be paid to take the player away from their club.

He told Sky Sport Italia: “Tomorrow we’ll have a direct contact with Juventus for Locatelli. He wants to join Juve.

“We’d be happy to sell Manuel (Locatelli) to Juve… but they need to pay the right fee.

“Arsenal made a bid to sign him and also a new English club is now in the race.”

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s male National Football team, Super Eagles will host Liberia in Lagos on September 3 for their qualifying schedule for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Naija News reports that the second round qualifying fixtures were released on Thursday, July 29. The three-time African champions would again travel to Cape Verde on September 7.

The Super Eagles play a double-header against the Central African Republic (CAR) between October 6 and 12. Nigeria will host the first leg, before travelling for the reverse fixture.
