PDP Governors React To Okowa’s Emergence As Atiku’s Running Mate

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ forum Waziri Tambuwal has revealed why some of his colleagues are defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tambuwal, who was represented by Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku, spoke at the gala night on Sunday at the Bauchi Government House banquet hall to welcome the PDP Governors in the State.

According to the Sokoto governor, governors are joining the APC to avoid being prosecuted for their corrupt deeds.

He stated that the opposition party will regain power in 2023 and improve the living standards of Nigerians.

“As your Governor earlier mentioned, we have no hope except in PDP, we will live in the PDP, we will savage whatever the country is left of when we regain power in 2023,” Tambuwal said.

“If you look around, only in the PDP states projects are ongoing, I am sure speaking the facts and the minds of many Nigerians.”

“Those running and leaving the PDP to where their sins are forgiven… So if you are a bad and corrupt man, you go over to APC to where your sins will be forgiven but we do not agree and believe in intimidation. We will remain in the PDP, we will capture power and improve Nigeria.”

“Those who said they were going to conquer Boko haram in 6-month, 6 years now they cannot do it. It is getting worse,” he added.

“We now have several Boko Haram terrorising the country. We will come and make Nigeria what it should be, the pride of Africa.”

Those present were: Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia); Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa); Udom Emmanuel, (Akwa Ibom); Duoye Diri (Bayelsa); Samuel Ortom (Benue).

Others were: Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta); Godwin Obaseki (Edo); Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu); Seyi Makinde( Oyo); Nyesom Wike( Rivers) and Zamfara Deputy Governor Mahdi Aliyu.
