The Police has arrested some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who stormed the federal high court in Abuja on Monday for the trial of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The IPOB members who stormed the court area, with some of them dressed in Jewish apparel were chanting slogans in support of Kanu and demanding his freedom.

This made the police move in to disperse the crowd as earlier reported by Naija News.

However, our correspondent subsequently gathered that some members of the group were later arrested while others fled.

Meanwhile, the trial of the embattled IPOB leader has commenced at the Federal High Court, Abuja, amid tight security.

Naija News recalls Kanu is standing trial for an 11-count charge of treason, treasonable felony, terrorism, and illegal possession of firearms, among others brought against him by the federal government of Nigeria.
