Ifeanyi Ejiofor, counsel to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has stated that the Biafra agitator will regain freedom soon.

Naija News had earlier reported that the IPOB leader’s trial was adjourned till October 21st, 2021.

Justice Binta Nyako adjourned the trial on Monday at the resumption of proceedings at the court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The trial suffered a setback after the Department of State Services (DSS) failed to produce Kanu in court.

In a statement after the court session, Ejiofor announced the activation of a judicial process to ensure that the court grants a fiat to hear the case during the court’s annual vacation that commenced today.

“Our Client -Mazi Nnamdi Kanu cannot only be visited by his lawyers but relatives and friends, provided there are only two persons in every of such visits,” he said.

“It is now an order of the court. Anybody within the above classification will be profiled by our Head of Chambers.”

Ejiofor dismissed speculations that the IPOB leader has been taken out of Abuja.

“Our discreet findings confirmed that Nnamdi Kanu was not taken out of Abuja to an unknown destination. Kindly ignore the rumour mongers.

“We will visit him again within the next 48 hours. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will regain his freedom sooner than may be expected,” Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer added.
