One of the major airlines in Nigeria, Air Peace, has revealed the cause of a reported crash of one of its aircraft at the runway of the Ilorin International Airport.

Naija News earlier reported that many passengers narrowly escaped death as an aircraft in the fleet of Air Peace crash-landed at 9.30am on Friday morning upon landing in Ilorin from Abuja.

Reacting to the incident in a statement on Saturday, the airline management debunked the report of a plane crash or crash-landing.

The statement explained that the aircraft in question landed safely but had a tyre burst while taxing. It added that the tyres had been fixed and the aircraft was intact.

According to the statement, the sensational report was intended to cause panic in the minds of the flying public.

The company said the incident was duly reported to the authorities and passengers disembarked seamlessly.
