Two students of Bethel Baptist High School who were abducted by bandit terrorists have regained freedom.

Naija News recalls that bandit terrorists invaded Bethel Secondary School in Maramara Chickun LGA of Kaduna State and abducted 121 students.

The affected secondary school is a boarding school located on the outskirts of Kaduna.

Two soldiers were also killed as they engaged the terrorists in a shootout.

The security guard in the school, Daniel Muhuta, while speaking on the development said, “I escaped narrowly. They came around 1.00 am and started shooting. I was at the back of the school domentary when I heard shooting and decided to pin down.”

A senior staff of the school told Daily Trust on Thursday that the escaped students, who are brothers, are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

“Yes the two students escaped from their abductors,” the source simply said.

Confirming the escape, the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Jalige Mohammed, said the students were found in the bush by the police and taken to the hospital.

He stated that one is 20 years old while the other is 16 years old.

“They escaped but were found in the bush and we took them to the hospital. A statement will be issued,” he said.

A total of 119 students are still in the bandits’ custody.
