The Commander Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army, Maj-Gen Victor Ezugwu, on Tuesday said Nigerian would remain a united country.
Ezugwu stated this while speaking with newsmen at the Eid-el-Kabir celebration organised for children of officers and soldiers residing in the Jaji Military Cantonment.
The military officer noted that the event attended by children of personnel of different religions portrays the unity of the country.
He said, “People thought by now, Nigeria must have gone into flames, but to the glory of God, we are still matching as a nation.”
The General expressed the belief that the nation will be more peaceful “than what we are seeing now”.
He added that God did not make mistake by making Nigeria a united country, adding that Nigerians should preach against division.
