A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe has mocked Sunday Igboho and IPOB’s Nnamdi Kanu.
Igbokwe, who is the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Drainage and Water Resources, said the arrest of Kanu and Igboho shows that “Juju” (charms) does not work.
Sharing a photograph of Igboho wearing charms on his Facebook wall, the APC chieftain noted that, “Juju” failed in the South-East and has also failed in the South-West.
His post read: “Juju no de work again ooo. It failed in Igbo land and it failed too in Yoruba land.”
Naija News had earlier reported that Sunday Igboho was arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
He was arrested at the Cotonou Cadjehoun Airport on Monday night while attempting to flee to Germany, a top source familiar with the matter revealed.
Igboho was arrested by the security forces in Benin Republic about three weeks after the Department of State Services declared him wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms, an allegation he has since denied.
While Nnamdi Kanu was reportedly rearrested in Kenya and extradited back to Nigeria on the 27th of June, 2021.
He was then arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako who ordered his remand in the custody of the DSS until his next trial date which is July 26 and 27.
Kanu, who is facing an 11-count charge of treason, treasonable felony, terrorism and illegal possession of firearms, among others, jumped bail in 2017 and left the country, only to re-emerge in Israel and then in the United Kingdom.
