IPOB: Nnamdi Kanu Clash With DSS Operatives During Interrogation

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, reportedly clashed with operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Sunday.

It was gathered that the pro-Biafra activist refused to answer questions during another interrogation session by the secret police in Abuja in the presence of is lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor.

During his interrogation by five DSS officers, Nnamdi Kanu stated that he was fed up with the interviews and would not respond to questions again.

He was however assured by the security operatives that Sunday was the last interview they would have with him.

DSS Stops Kanu From Signing Letter For UK Consular Assistance — Lawyer

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has been stopped by the Department of State Services from signing a consular assistance form by the United Kingdom.

The development was revealed by one of the counsels for the IPOB leader, Aloy Ejimakor, in a statement released on Monday after visiting Kanu in DSS custody today.

The IPOB leader holds both Nigerian and British citizenship.

Kanu, who was rearrested recently from overseas, is facing terrorism-related charges.

The IPOB leader had jumped bail before fleeing to the United Kingdom.

IPOB: Nnamdi Kanu Didn’t Jump Bail – Ejimakor

The lawyer to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor has noted that the IPOB leader will prove that he did not jump bail in 2017.

The counsel to the IPOB leader said he will prove that the Nigerian Government made his client flee the country in 2017.

Ejimakor insisted that the military invasion of Kanu’s residence and threat to his life made him unable to attend his trials and flee Nigeria.

He said: “Despite what he has passed through, Nnamdi Kanu was in high spirits when I met with him yesterday, July 17; and he is looking forward to the first opportunity to debunk this whole story of him jumping bail. To date, he has never had such an opportunity even as he had previously requested it in the proper forum.”
